We had an abbreviated “camp out” early in November. Due to unusually cold weather we decided to have just a full Saturday without the overnight stay. Thanks to all who braved the weather – we had a good time and spent lots of quality time around the fire!

Holiday Party & Pinewood Derby Car Cutting

We will be distributing the Pinewood derby cars at the Dec. 5th Den meetings. You can start planning your design now and mark up the car for the car cutting session on Dec. 19th. We’ll have a band saw available (run by an adult) to make the rough cuts for the Scouts. We’ll have the “rules” available at the Dec. 5th meeting also. We’ll also have a Holiday party during the car cutting session with Cake and other refreshments.

Popcorn Money

Please turn in all Popcorn money as soon as possible. It is all due today – Nov. 28th.

Luminaria

Luminaria is a special service project that Pack 201 (and most scouts in Cary) does every year.  Please start distributing the Luminaria this week and return any donations by the Dec. 12th den meetings. NOTE: The PO Box on the forms is wrong – it should be PO Box 3211. Please correct on the forms before distributing them. If you have any questions, please see Laura Sutton or Matt Leonhard.

Historic Yates Mill Corn Grinding Tours
We had 30+ people join us for the tour of the mill and a short hike. We had all the Tigers there and they completed their “Historic Place” Go-See-It and their hike requirement. It was a great time and great weather. All the Boys who completed the “Scavenger Hunt” were awarded a special patch.

Cary Christmas Parade

Pack 201 marches in the Cary Christmas parade as a group each year.  Please mark your calendars for Saturday Dec 9th and plan to join the fun!  We will have drinks and cookies afterward.  All scouts are welcome to participate but must be accompanied by an adult.  Parents and siblings are welcome to march with us.  Watch for more information.

Blue & Gold Committee Meeting

The Blue & Gold committee will hold a kick-off meeting on Dec. 5th during the den meetings. Any parents interested in helping plan for the banquet are encouraged to attend. Please contact Jan Leonhard for any questions at 833-2007 or janlynnl@nc.rr.com
